A private tracker for your shows & movies

A quiet little tracker for
the shows & movies you watch.

No feed. No followers. No noise. Just your shows, what's next, and where you left off, in one calm place that's yours.

The beta is full, for now. Signups are paused while I smooth out the early rough edges (top of the list: making TV Time imports as solid as they can be). Add your email and you'll be first in line when a spot opens.

Let's be honest for a second

TV Time is gone, and a handful of apps are racing to replace it. Some of them are good. If you want a big social network with community threads and reaction feeds, honestly, go use one of those. They'll do it better than I will.

Sofa Sidekick is for the other kind of person. The one who just wants to keep track of what they've watched, see what's on next, and maybe geek out over their own stats. The kind who talks about the season finale with their family at dinner or their best friend on the phone, not in a comment thread with strangers.

If that's you, welcome. You'll feel at home here.

Everything your watchlist needs

Track what you watch, know what's next, and actually enjoy keeping track, all in one private place.

Always know what's up next

Up Next shows the exact next unwatched episode for every series you're working through, so you never lose your place. No hunting, no spreadsheets.

Shows, movies & a watchlist

One library for everything. Follow series, mark movies watched, and keep a watchlist of the stuff you mean to get to, ready when you are.

Clear statuses

Watching, finished, on hold, waiting for the next season, dropped, want to watch. Your library, actually organized the way your brain already thinks about it.

Enjoy the stats

Episodes watched, hours spent, your busiest months, your most-watched shows, plus your own 1–10 ratings. The fun numbers, without anyone else looking over your shoulder.

Track what you own

Not just what you've watched, but what's actually on your shelf or in your library, and in what format: digital, Blu-ray, or DVD.

Works on every device

A fast web app that runs in any browser on phone or desktop, and installs to your home screen so it feels just like a native app. No app store, no download.

Coming from TV Time?

You can bring your history over. It won't be flawless, no import ever is, and matching thousands of episodes across databases gets messy, but Sofa Sidekick does its honest best to get your shows, progress, and watchlist in the door, so you're not starting from zero.

And once your data's here, it's yours. Export it anytime, in full, so you can take it wherever you like. Your lists, your data, your call.

What it isn't

Sofa Sidekick doesn't have a social feed, public comments, or community threads, and it never will. That's not a feature I forgot to build. It's a decision. This is a calm, private tool, not another place to be Online.

No ads. No selling your data. No algorithm deciding what you should watch next. Just a tidy little sidekick for your watching life.

The truth about who makes this

Sofa Sidekick is a side project. I built it because I wanted it, a clean, private tracker that does the job without turning watching TV into a social performance. I'm sharing it because maybe you wanted the same thing and couldn't find it either.

It's made by one person, so it's small and it's personal, and it'll grow slowly and deliberately. That's a promise, not a disclaimer.

Frequently asked questions

Is Sofa Sidekick free?

Yes. The core tracking, following shows and movies, marking episodes watched, and seeing what's up next, is free, and always will be. If we add extra features later, the tracking you rely on stays free.

Does it track movies too, or just TV?

Both. Shows and movies live in one library. Mark movies watched, track what you own, and keep a watchlist right alongside your series.

Can I import my history from TV Time?

Yes, best-effort. Request your data export from TV Time and upload the .zip in Settings. Matching thousands of episodes across databases gets messy, so it won't be flawless, but Sofa Sidekick does its honest best to bring your shows, progress, and watchlist in so you're not starting from zero.

Is there a social feed or comments?

No, on purpose. Sofa Sidekick has no feed, no followers, no public comments, and it never will. It's a calm, private tracker, not another place to be online. If you want a social network for TV, other TV Time replacements do that well.

Is my data private?

Yes. Your library, progress, watchlist, and stats are yours alone, there's no public profile and nobody else can see what you watch. No ads, no selling your data. You can export everything anytime.

Where does the show and movie data come from?

All titles, artwork, and episode data come from TheTVDB, a community-maintained TV and movie database.

Do I need an account?

Yes, a free account keeps your library and progress in sync across your devices.

Does it work on my phone?

Yes. Sofa Sidekick is a web app that runs equally well in any browser on your phone or computer, and you can install it to your home screen so it behaves just like a native app, no app store needed.

How do I know what to watch next?

Up Next surfaces the next unwatched episode for every series you're in the middle of, and Coming this Week highlights new episodes from your shows airing in the next seven days.

How do I find where to stream something?

Every show and movie has a “Find where to watch” link that takes you straight to your streaming options.
